A couple (not complete) of the racial types proposed by V.V. Bunak as being involved in the composition of the Russian people.
The Valdaic type corresponds according to Bunak to the race orientale of Deniker (Biasutti's razza baltica) from which it is distinguished by a somewhat more elevated stature (cm. 167-168) and dolichoprosopy.

Bunak also proposes that a pigemented Northern Pontic race, including various types contributes to the Russian people. He considers it as the northeastern branch of the Mediterranean Race.

The Northern Pontic race of Russia is high-skulled, and as such has little in common with the low-skulled Mediterraneans of Bulgaria, Turkey and Greec. Bunak considered it to be a pigmentation phase of the Corded race, the most important racial element among ethnic Russians.

Bunak considered the Central Great Russian, Polesian, and Ryazan types to be derived from a pigmented Northern Pontic race, which he considered to be the northeastern branch of the Mediterranean Race.
The Upper Dnieper type was considered by Bunak to belong to the Sub-Nordic race of Deniker (Fenno-Nordic of von Eickstedt).

The Pontic race is high-skulled, and thus distinct from all other Mediterraneans, and more closely allied to its high-skulled relatives in Russia.
The Upper Dnieper type was considered by Bunak to belong to the Sub-Nordic race of Deniker (Fenno-Nordic of von Eickstedt).
In other words, East Baltic. The individuals in the plates I linked you to are of the Ilmen-Dnepr type, which is a generalized Corded derivative, and its rather obvious even from a casual look at their faces. Do they look East-Baltic to you, Dienekes?

The pictures are of rather poor quality, and the top of their heads is cut off. Whatever they are, I can definitely say that they do not represent the most common element among Russians.
