The Mediterranean Face (V)

Hungarian Model Betti Kakas. The Aegean-Mediterranean racial element does not seem to have penetrated much to the north of Hungary along the continental route. Interestingly, Hungarians appear to have a significant frequency of Y chromosome haplogroup E -which has a peri-Mediterranean distribution- and were found to be more similar to Greeks than the Greeks' more immediate northern neighbors according to Cavalli-Sforza.

She resembles the Greek model Evelina Papantoniou (sp?). She really looks a lot more "Greek" than "Hungarian", IMO. Couldn't her surname be Greek?

I can't say that I speak Hungarian, but I saw quite a few Hungarians whose surnames end in -as. I haven't heard of her surname in a Greek before. So, my educated guess is that she's Hungarian.

Kakas means rooster and is pronounced kokosh. As a Hungarian by marriage and involved in many Hungarian functions, I can tell you that Hungarians are about the most diverse looking ethnic group that I know of. Rather than there being a "typical" Hungarian look, there seems to be about 5 or 6 recognizably Hungarian looks. One is short, bracycephalic and vaguely Asiatic, another is Eastern Mediterranean, kinda Turkish, some look German, some look North Slavic and some look Balkan.

Though evaluating someones look for their ethnic origins is subjective, I've found that it's often the case if one person resembles another, they often turn out to be from the same or similar ethnic groups.

To me, a Greek, she looks both very familar and very foreign at the same time. She is very Pontid, yes, but I sense something Asiatic in her as well.

If you would have said that she got some dinaric or alpin admixture I would say I dont see it, but it is possible, but if you say asiatic, I say no way.
She looks 100 per cent european and got (on this picture of course) a perfect face.
Really nothing asiatic in my opinion.
