The poll questions are gravely flawed because of Dienekes' unfortunate choice of the expression "pure race," and as a result I find I can't respond to them as they now stand. I've got to run somewhere just at the moment, so haven't time to elaborate on this, but will later today, or tomorrow. In any event, the question this intended poll deals with is, I find, extremely interesting -- the question as to whether each of us is physically attracted most to members of his own race. I commented on this topic some months ago in a GnXp.com thread, a comment which Richard Poe a little disapprovingly linked to, subsequently, in Poe's Blog, where the topic was also briefly discussed, if memory serves. I haven't time at the moment to find and post the links. The threads were interesting, I found.

(I wouldn't recommend any white person discussing this topic at GnXp.com at present, because he'll run the risk of being severely punished for making one-hundred-percent innocent comments. The individual doing the punishing will be Godless Capitalist. Yellows and browns of course run no such risk over there [even for comments that are flat-out sickening] -- only whites, and especially white males. In that specific regard, GnXp.com is become one of the most PC sites on the web, a site where that particular aspect of PC will be brutally enforced, make no mistake.)

I was going to comment at length about why I thought the term "pure race" in these poll questions would keep people from taking part in the poll. I see I was wrong -- it's already had lots of responses. So I'll forget my idea for a long comment on the "flaw" in the term "pure races" (and also on the whole poll subject, which I think is an EXCELLENT one), and I'll just take the poll. I vote for the first choice: I am white (half-Euro-Christian, and half-Jewish at the grandparent level), and I find white people physically the most attractive of all (and I've always assumed it's the same for members of all races -- they find their race most attractive of all). I neither like nor necessarily dislike being limited that way. It's just the way it is. "De gustibus non disputandum est." I've tried to change it, but can't. I've tried to feel attracted to Negro women, but ... no luck. Can't do it. I only very seldom find Oriental women attractive, though when I do they can seem as attractive as white women. (I don't use the term "Eastern Asians," the current Marxist euphemism for what were always known perfectly politely as "Orientals" -- that is, all the various kinds of Chinese, the Japanese, Mongolians, Koreans, Tibetans, Vietnamese for the most part, etc.) I'll add that I don't care at all about skin color, eye color, or hair color. White Subcontinental women (categories of Subcontinentals are white, regardless of how dark-brown their skins may be) are as attractive to me as white Euro women though they may have dark-brown skins. Any white-Euro woman whom I find attractive I'd find just as attractive if someone came along with a paint bush and painted her skin literally jet-black from head to toe. Why go on about this detail? To give the lie to what we keep hearing, namely that people judge others too much by the color of their skin. I think people judge -- those who do judge -- much more on the basis of characteristics other than skin color, and skin color itself doen't matter that much to most people who "judge." It's other characteristics that matter, which those who keep admonishing us "not to judge by skin color" don't want to address.

I think you are right to some extend. Mophological characteristics are much more important than skin color.
And North-Indian and to some extend even the dravidian south are morphological comparable to Europeans.
Especially in East Africa you can see the different groups which are all black but differ very much morphological and attractiveness.
F.e. Ethiopian women from the highlands of Ethiopia or the Pygmaen populations of East-Centra Africa.

I've always dated women of my phenotype, i.e., tall (at least 5'7''; my current girlfriend is 5'10''), blue-eyed blondes. For the simple reasons that I find such women to be the most attractive and they perfectly fit in with the rest of my family, AND I want my children to inherit my phenotype.

I like your attitude, but that you want pure children doesnt have to mean that you cant say from an objective point of view that people of other races can be attractive too.

Well, I presume that Blacks find other Blacks the most attractive; Mongoloids find other Mongoloids the most attractive, etc.

I'm most attracted to women who have my particular phenotype. Of course, this doesn't mean that I don't find some women of other races attractive. I just wouldn't date them.

An anecdote I learned a year or so ago from the Subcontinental community who post at "Gene Expression": on the Subcontinent there's a preference for women who aren't too dark-complected. Apparently the darker-skinned ones who post ads in the "personals" pages describe their skin color as "wheaten" (the Subcontinentals posting at GnXp.com call it "wheatish," but I suspect the proper English word would be the one I put -- I could be wrong), sort of a "warning," I suppose, to any interested young man that they have a "flaw." Each time I hear this anecdote, I say to myself, what a golden opportunity for some serious, marriage-minded white guy who isn't too, too ugly, to snag himself what might perhaps be a real beauty of a Subcontinental woman "at bargain-basement prices," because her dark complexion devalues her in the eyes of her countrymen. I could easily imagine some serious, marriage-minded young white man doing quite well for himself -- perhaps way better than he could do among white girls at home -- through seeking those Indian/Paki women who put "wheaten" as their skin tone in the personals. Were I not already happily married to the world's most beautiful woman, I swear I'd at least be curious enough to look into this and see what's out there -- some of those Hindu and Paki women are drop-dead gorgeous, certainly among the world's most beautiful, no matter what their skin color. And I bet they make some of the world's best wives, for a man who is serious.

I believe that the comment about wanting one's children to inherit one's phenotype is interesting. From my standpoint, the "problem" with "wheaten", black, yellow, or even olive skin is that it is not as "high-status" as white skin. (Note the term "high-yellow" that was used at one point among African-americans to discribe blacks of light complexion.) It's not that white skin is more attractive, per se, but that we all want our children to partake in the advantages of being seen as "high". In American society, "whiteness" is still percieved as a socio-economic advantage. Although black persons are attaining higher status in this country than ever before (witness Colin Powell and Condolizza Rice), old money stillcalls the shots. And old money is white.
Now, what about tanning salons and BayWatch Babes?
