Income of US Race/Hispanic Origin Groups

Per capita Income:

Non-Hispanic White $26,128
Asian or Pacific Islander $24,131
Black $15,441
Hispanic $13,487

Household Income:

Asian or Pacific Islander $52,626
Non-Hispanic White: $46,900
Hispanic $33,103
Black $29,026

As you can see, White-Asian and Black-Hispanic order is reversed depending on which type of income measure is used.

I'd be interested in how many Asian-American families have more than two incomes in one household. It's an issue in the California real estate market, where three income households can outbid two income households for homes in desirable neighborhoods.

Such changes might not be result of three income in one household at all. Imagine this. If Asian family have more children than white family, such change might be explainable due to more children. Per capita income will average on all those members who make no income at all. If Asian family have more children than white family, it will reduced the per capita income on average. Just another possible explanation.
