Isn't Q more associated with Amerindians than Asians proper?

Q is found in both Asian and Amerindian populations. It originated in Asia, hence it is properly defined as signifying Asian heritage. A particular subclade, Q3, is typical of Amerindians.

Always thought they were not fully Caucasian. They are too wierd.

Other populations classified as Caucasian, including some autochthonous European ones, have small amounts of non-Caucasoid admixture as well. Are they also weird?

Y chromosome haplogroups have nothing to do with weirdness.

I agree. My reply was sarcastic.

Would these findings indicate that there really were 'Khazar' conversions? Since the Khazars were from central asia, it's certainly plausible that they could have carried such haplogroups among some of their tribesmen, no? Very interesting.
